How to tell if your cat is getting enough Nutrients
There are a few easy ways, or rules of thumb, to tell if your cat is
getting enouph of specific types of nutrients.
For instance, a calcium shortage often happens when meat makes up most of
the cat's diet. In general, an excess of
calcium occurs only when it is oversupplemented, making that problem
relatively easy to correct.
Excessive calcium supplementation can cause another nutritional problem in
your cat, a defiency of Phosphorus.
This problem in turn causes a causes depraved appetite.
A defiency in Potassium is often causes by diarrhea or diuretics, or
inadequate intake because of anorexia.
An excess of this mineral does not occur unless there is oliguria.
An iron defiency may happen if your cat is fed only milk for a substantial
period of time, or from excessive blood loss.
A copper defiency may be the result of too much zinc, iron and/or
molybdenum supplementation.
An imbalance of the mineral Manganese is rare in both dogs and cats.
Your cat may have an excess of Selenium if he or she displays the symptoms
